“Diane is very patient and kind. She has a wonderful studio in her home that is calm and helps my 9 year old – Tara, keep her focus. The Brain Gym exercises help Tara immensely and give her more control and confidence in her playing. Tara has been taking lessons for 4 years now and really enjoys it. She loves the recitals they have and is always enthusiastic about her lessons. Diane is very supportive and works with each student at their own pace. She only pushes as far as they can handle and is very flexible. We love her and will continue lessons with her for as long as she will have us. Tara says ‘I am very grateful to have a violin teacher as wonderful as Diane.’ What more can we say?” Nicole and Tara P.
"Diane Lovejoy has been teaching my young man for four years now. She is so good with children, he looks forward each Tuesday for his lesson. Her approach uses a technique, Brain Gym, which helps the students focus. It helps Taylor get through a stumbling block. I have seen firsthand the benefits of Brain Gym and the steady progress he has made.” Audrey H.
"I am nine years old. It takes more then a few months to learn to play the violin. My lessons have been challenging but fun. Diane, my teacher, has us play in two recitals a year. I like those because all of her students get to play together.” Taylor H.
“I am one of Diane’s adult students. She is a very talented violinist and her years of experience allow her to anticipate where her students need to focus to sharpen their skills. She has been patient, perceptive and made learning this difficult instrument FUN. In addition to being a great teacher, over the years she has also become a good friend. I highly recommend her as a violin instructor to anyone, any age.” Ellen F.
My son has taken violin lessons from Diane for the last two years. He started at 12 with no musical experience other than singing in church services. Diane's lesson progression is logical. She makes sure her students have the proper mechanics. She is positive and tailors her lessons to the needs and abilities of the individual student. My son, struggling with a learning disability, now reads music and is able to balance the physical demands of playing the violin with the fast-paced "forward thinking" that this instrument requires. Diane defines "practice", models how it should be done and explains what doesn't work. Her violin lessons are chalk-full of life lessons. I highly recommend Diane Lovejoy and her music studio! Michelle W.
"As a music educator teaching in the public school system, Diane's teaching is exemplary. She creates a safe, consistent environment to learn and work in. She teaches students not only how to play a violin, but how to understand it and so they can teach themselves. I would highly recommend Diane Lovejoy as your child's violin teacher."
